Terms of Service

Last updated: June 17, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the conditions for providing kizamu ("the App") and the rights and obligations between the operator and users regarding use of the App. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Application)

These Terms apply to all relationships between users and the operator concerning use of the App.

Article 2 (Registration)

Users shall register in the manner prescribed by the App. The operator may decline registration if it determines that certain grounds apply to an applicant.

Article 3 (Account management)

Users shall manage their account information at their own responsibility. The operator is not liable for unauthorized use by third parties.

Article 4 (Services provided)

The App provides features to record learning gained from books and films as a learning journal, condense it into a short "carve line" to create and share carve cards, and lightly resurface past entries via reminders. Service content may change without notice.

Article 5 (Prohibited conduct)

Article 6 (Rights to content)

Rights to content entered by users, such as learning entries and carve cards, belong to the users. The operator may use them to the extent necessary to provide and improve the service.

Article 7 (External services and data)

The App uses the Rakuten Books API and TMDB to obtain bibliographic and work information. The operator is not liable for matters arising from these external services.

Article 8 (Suspension/changes)

The operator may suspend or change all or part of the App without prior notice due to maintenance, faults, or other unavoidable reasons.

Article 9 (Disclaimer)

The operator does not warrant that the App is free from de facto or legal defects. The operator is liable for damages arising from use of the App only to the extent permitted by law.

Article 10 (Changes to Terms)

The operator may change these Terms by notifying users when it deems necessary. Using the App after a change constitutes agreement to the revised Terms.

Article 11 (Governing law/jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute regarding the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the operator's location.

Article 12 (Contact)
